Modern Vikings brings together some of Scotland’s most distinctive jazz voices under the leadership of drummer Stephen Henderson. Together, they forge a high-energy sound rooted in jazz improvisation and inspired by the rich melodic traditions of Scottish and Scandinavian folk music. Henderson is joined by Konrad Wiszniewski (saxophone), Fergus McCreadie (piano), Graeme Stephen (guitar) and David Bowden (double bass).

Bass player Ali Watson is joined by Matt Carmichael (saxophone), Fergus McCreadie (piano) and Greg Irons (drums). They draw on the traditions of Scottish folk, alongside impressionist classical music, creating music that feels expansive, evocative and quietly captivating.
