EJBF Community Band

The EJBF Community Band is an open-access community band that welcomes participants of all ages and abilities. It provides a relaxed space for people to come together and enjoy collective music-making in a supportive environment.

It is completely free to participate.

Held at St Bride’s Centre (10 Orwell Terrace, EH11 2DZ) sessions are designed to accommodate a wide range of musical experiences, from beginners to more advanced players.

It’s important to note that at the Community Band we don’t teach you to play your instrument but the group performs specially arranged music tailored to the abilities of all members, ensuring that everyone can participate meaningfully, regardless of musical background.

Each session includes a warm-up, rehearsals of the term’s chosen repertoire, and can often include some musical development exercises such as learning pieces by ear.

If you are not sure about joining or concerned that it might not be right for you please email learning@ejbf.co.uk to arrange a visit to one of the sessions to get a better sense of what takes place and what the group is about.
